Her part as Willie Scott (an American nightclub performer and singer) in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), that was produced by her later husband Steven Spielberg, is her most famous role. Since then, she starred in Dreamscape (1984), Power (1986), SpaceCamp (1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (1994), Just Cause (1995) as well as The Love Letter (1999). The portraits of her work have been shown in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Beverley Sue (nee Simon), a beauty and travel agent as well as Edwin Leon Nail, an airline employee. At the age of five she moved to St. Louis and graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw obtained a degree in education at the University of Missouri, where she was a part of Alpha Delta Pi. She taught special education at Southern Boone High School in Ashland, Missouri, and Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri.
