Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She is co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, a non-profit liberal news website is a popular TV show host author, author and an philanthropist. Born in Greece but moved to England when she was 16. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA of Economics. When she was 21, she was president of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the very first foreign student to do so. Then she became a conservative syndicated journalist after graduating and, when The Huffington Post launched a several years afterwards, she was able to create an online platform for voice that offered criticisms on political scenarios. Her fame brought in a variety of famous contributors for posting their thoughts about news, politics and the arts. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she decided to be an independent presidential candidate during the California recall election in order to replace the Governor Davis. In addition to this she was the leader of the Detroit Project to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. She was ranked 12th in Forbes' list of most influential women in media. In the same year, Guardian listed her among the top 100 media personalities. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her president of the media company, which also included a number of that were then AOL brands too, like Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Her parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, a management consultant and journalist. She was very close with her father. It was the relationship she had with her mother who shaped her. Even in her early childhood she showed the qualities of a leader for which she has become well known. At the age of 16 she began her study in the United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first female and only foreign president. After graduating in 1972, she received the degree of master's in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist and critic and a television host. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editorial assistance.
