Fawn Mckay

Fawn McKay was born on 15 September 1915, in Ogden Utah. Fawn MCKAY, who was raised in the Mormon Church's First Family utilized her writing talent as well as expertise in research to write the intriguing biographical psycho-historical study of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945, under the name No Man Knows My History, she used both. This title is derived from a funeral speech delivered by the founder of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1844. He shocked those he addressed with the words: You don't know me you never knew my heart. My history is unknown to anybody. There is no way for me to share it with you. Fawn, a 29-year-old woman said: "Since that moment of truthfulness, three or more writers have picked up the challenge." Many have mocked and denigrated his character, whereas others have tried to pinpoint the cause. The problem isn't that there aren't enough documents however they're wildly contradictory. It is a difficult task to assemble these documents by separating the first-hand versions from copies that are third-hand and integrating Mormon accounts with those of non-Mormon people to form a cohesive mosaic. It is both exciting and informative. FawnBrodie embraced this professional challenge. Her research and writings made her famous all over the world: Thaddeus Stephens. The DevilDrives. Thomas Jefferson. The intimate Histories (1974) as well as Richard Nixon.
